John Milton (1608-1674) the English poet, was born in Bread Street, Cheapside, London, on the 9th of December 1608.

He is considered one of the greatest poets of the English language; his work encompassing many different forms.  Some of his best known work:  Lycidas, Comus, Paradise Lost and Paradise Regained.
