Thornden Park - The E. M. Mills Memorial Rose Garden The Rose Garden is a lovely plot of land on which hundreds of rose bushes of all colors and types have been carefully cultivated. The roses are in full bloom in June, making this one of the most popular wedding locations in the city of Syracuse. The garden is located on Ostrum Avenue, next to Syracuse University, and is a favorite spot for student and alumni weddings. The city asks that care be taken not to trample the roses or put chairs in the gardens. No tents are allowed, and there is no electricity available in the garden. It is best to plan ahead as this garden is in high demand for weddings, especially in June when the roses are at their peak.
Thornden Park - The Lily Pond Located near Syracuse University, the lily pond sits at the top a lovely brick stairway near the Rose Garden off Ostrum Avenue, and is another popular wedding locale. The pond features a waterfall and there is an English-style garden nearby that is the perfect setting for a wedding. On top of the waterfall, there is another little stairway with a bench. This is a lovely spot for wedding photographs. There is no charge to use the area, but there is a fee to use electricity. The city allows the use of tents but does set some restrictions on the size.

The theatre features intricate carvings, beautiful chandeliers, and gold gilt ornamentation. Weddings have been conducted on the stage in the theatre itself or in the ornate lobby that is also perfect for a reception.
