Q&A – Plans for Bad Weather

Q: My wedding will be an outdoor one, but it's during the rainy season. Since I don't know how the weather will be that day, how can I word my invitations in case bad weather makes my outdoor plans impossible?

A: It's wise to have a Plan B when your wedding will take place outside. Since you already know your ceremony happens during the rainy season, and inclement weather may force a change in plans, have a backup location ready.

Depending on the size of your wedding, a large portable tent or two may be the only contingency plan you need. If, however, you'll need an entirely new locale in the event of rain, simply add "In case of bad weather" location information to your invitations. If you're not sure about including this alternative location information on your invites, feel free to enclose a separate "inclement weather" card with alternate location information listed.
